gosh, it's nice to be in the office today. true, i've technically been in the office since last week, but it was in mclean for training and that doesn't count. i had been thrown around between bethesda, cranberry, newark, and harrisburg for the last two months and it's good to have a little break, even if it's just for one day.

speaking of training last week, thanks for all your restaurant recommendations. i was able to visit 2 "best" places on the site d. pang referred me to. one was fleming's - food was of the best quality, service was great, and the restaurant was very clean and fancy. the other one was maestro (at the ritz carlton) - food was exceptional, service was exceptional, and the restaurant was beyond clean and fancy (granted, the bill came out to be more than double what we spent at fleming's).

though pretty pricey, both places were well worth the money (i may say that only cuz it wasn't my money). =)

within the next month, i will:

-probably stop to eat pho at an loi for dinner at least 5 times on my way home from a columbia client
-finally satisfy my craving for cheesesteak during my week-long client engagement in philly
-fly (for the first time!) to go to a client in chicago
-finish "my name is samsoon" (i'm hoping it gets better cuz i wasn't too impressed with the first tape.. sorry fans.)

i've just realized that i talk a lot about food on my blog, and this entry makes it look like my work revolves around food.

oh well. i won't deny it.

so i'm gonna be in tyson's corner next week for training, and i'm trying to find good places to eat. i'm definitely going to go to a steakhouse and sushi restaurant.

for the steakhouse, would you recommend fleming's (voted d.c.'s top ten), morton's, capital grill, or ruth's chris?

please leave me some recommendations!!!!

i have so many places to go today, but my mom just disappeared (i think she went to our new korean neighbors across the street), and she's not coming back. as we now have the computer on 24/7 (my mom used to yell at me for doing this, but now she's gotten pretty computer-savvy and watches korean dramas on it all the time), i thought i might as well be productive while i wait. ;)

here's my to-do list:
1) bally's - haven't really kept up lately. commuting to bethesda hasn't helped either.
2) dry cleaners - still haven't found a good one around here.
3) bank - don't get me started. will m&t ever GET IT RIGHT?!?
4) get my tires aligned (finally) - 20% off baby.
5) mall - gotta return a shirt at ann taylor, my favorite store.
6) best buy - pick out a gift for myself. =)
7) praise practice
8) church lock-in
9) praise practice
10) play

hmm.. i guess i really should be doing my weebles since today isn't an official day off. ah well. i'll get to it. maybe. later.

i've come to love the smell of morning. the coolness of air, coffee, breakfast in client's kitchen, freshly sprayed perfume/cologne.

on a side note, i saw a dead dog on the side of 495 on my drive to bethesda today. it was a dark, furry dog. i felt an urge to stop my car and give it a proper farewell as i thought it'd be a crime to leave the poor animal to a lonesome death, but traffic on 495 didn't allow me the time. it was a sad, sad moment. really.

i went to the mall to get hyungboo a birthday present. spent 15 minutes picking out a shirt for hyungboo and 30 minutes picking out shorts for chris. i never thought i'd come to a point where i can't shop near the men's department without slowly migrating to it and sneaking a peek for sales. it's a new feeling but i like it.

joy and relief.
